Yesterday night’s churchill live show was not all laughter for everyone when one of the comedians made a joke about gorgeous NTV anchor Smriti Vidyarthi. This was during the Totos corner segment when Mc Jesse asked the kids to pronounce the anchor’s name.
“Nani anaweza pronounce jina ya kale kamhindi hupresent news kwa NTV?”
Those are the words he used and as much as it was on a light note, Smriti and other Kenyans on social Media didn’t take it very well. The kids made funny pronunciations with the funniest being ‘Smiti na Viazi’ and this might have seemed funny to everyone but not one Smriti who tweeted;
My name “Smriti” means “that which will be remembered” and “Vidyarthi” means “scholar”. Please don’t mock my name.

Churchill however was quick to act on it and shared this today morning;

Smriti Vidyarthi then tweeted this;
Just received a call from @MwalimChurchill who made a personal apology to me. Apology accepted and appreciated.
There you have it guys, Everything was on a light note and Smriti is doing just fine.
